About Our Team

The Cincinnati Spanish School and Academy are ownded and operated by the dynamic duo of Marc Vendrell Cervantes and Megan Meconi. Marc is a native of Barcelona, Spain, and Megan is a native Ohioan and long-time Cincinnati resident. They met working overseas and have made Cincinnati their home. They have over 25 years combined experience in language schools across more than 5 countries. They are passionate about bringing the Spanish language to Cincinnatians of all ages. Born in Colombia. In the U.S. since 1998.
Education: Dentistry DDS. Master in Health Education and Communication.

Nilda Araujo Hook

Nilda Araujo Hook

Spanish Instructor
Born and raised in Mérida, Venezuela. I have been living in the U.S. since 2000.
Education: B.A in Business Management.
“ Clearly Spanish has become the second most important language in the U.S. As a native of South American I want to use my special training and ability to teach children and adults to speak and communicate in the Spanish language. I look forward to my students learning our wonderful language and a bit of the culture of Latin America.”

Ana Gallegos-Yavorsky

Ana is from Ecuador and has a background in Economics and Marketing. She came ot the US to study, fell in love, and has made Cincinnati her home. She teaches both children and adults all levels of Spanish.

Jenny Lopez

Jenny is from Colombia and has extensive teaching experience in both Colombia and the US teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language. Jenny is currently finishing a Master Degree in Education and is thrilled to make Cincinnati her home.

Carla De Pozzio-Pardo

Carla has roots in Argentina and Bolivia. She has worked with government embassies and currently works as a linguist for the IRS. Carla has taught Spanish courses at several Ohio Universities. She continues her love of teaching with the Cincinnati Spanish School in the evenings.

Luz Irene Strohfeldt

Luz is from Peru and has lived in Cincinnati since 1998. She came here to Cincinnati to teach Spanish, fell in love, and made Cincinnati her home. She currently teaches at Cincinnati State Community College and is involved in ESL programming.

Rocio Arias Rodriguez

Rocio is from Galicia, Spain, and has been living in Cincinntati for almost 3 years on a Teacher Exchange program between Spain and the US. Rocio teaches at a local Elementary School during the day and then tackles adult classes in the evenings.
