About Our Team
The Cincinnati Spanish School and Academy are ownded and operated by Speaking of Cultures, a partnership born in Cincinnati with over 25 years of experience in language schools across more than 5 countries. We are passionate about bringing the Spanish language to Cincinnatians of all ages.
We are so pleased to have a brilliant and dedicated team consisting of our Director, Maria Cohen, and our Instructors for both children and adults.
Born in Colombia. In the U.S. since 1998.
Education: Dentistry DDS. Master in Health Education and Communication.

Nilda Araujo Hook
Born and raised in Mérida, Venezuela. I have been living in the U.S. since 2000.
Education: B.A in Business Management.
“ Clearly Spanish has become the second most important language in the U.S. As a native of South American I want to use my special training and ability to teach children and adults to speak and communicate in the Spanish language. I look forward to my students learning our wonderful language and a bit of the culture of Latin America.”
Born and raised in Lima, Peru. In the U.S since 2008.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
“ I am mother of a toddler boy, who is learning Spanish and English. I studied ESL in Lima and Boston, where I resided for 4 years. I enjoy teaching Spanish and sharing a little of the Latin culture in each class. I love my country and enjoy traveling around Peru and the World. My passion is also photography; I love to capture the essence and beauty of every experience I enjoy!”
Born and raised in México City. Residing in the US since 2010.
Education: Bachelor of Science, Psychology.
Miriam teaches classes for both adults and children. She is energetic and enthusiastic, and will make you laugh in class! Outside of teaching, Miriam is very active in volunteer organizations around CIncinnati.

Education: Busines Administration specialized in Marketing.
Gladys has more than 3 of experience as a Spanish teacher, both adults and children.

Linda was born in Colombia, and moved to the US as a teenager. She is a skilled bilingual instructor with years of experience teaching both children and adults. Linda is a proud mom and a caring teacher!>
